Rescue Diver

The PADI Rescue Diver course will expand your knowledge and experience beyond a recreational level. Through training you consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although the aims of the course are serious it is an enjoyable way of improving your skills and building your confidence.


  • Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification
  • Age 12 years or over (divers aged 12-14 years may earn Junior Rescue Diver certification)
  • 12-14 year old divers may earn Junior Rescue Diver
  • Be medically fit
  • To have completed a recognised First Aid Course including CPR within the previous 24 months


  • All scuba equipment required
  • All PADI course materials and registration fees
  • All practice pool sessions
  • Open Water dives (any site entry fees not included)

Course Outline:

  • The Rescue Diver course consists of one day’s Knowledge Development, one afternoon of pool training and two day’s Open Water training.
  • This training is spread out over a number of weeks to allow you time to practice your new found skills prior to the final two day Open Water weekend.
